Spring Clean Up
Spring Clean Up is needed to get ready for the upcoming growing season and ensuring you will have a healthy and great looking lawn & yard. Doing a Spring Clean Up right, can be a time consuming, back breaking job but that’s where we come in. Let us do it for you!
If the leaves have been there all winter, they are likely wet and heavy. You can compost some of them and we can bag the rest if you have a lot. Trees drop a lot of debris over the winter season (especially in an ice storm), so we’ll clear that out of the way.
De-thatching (if needed): Thatch is the layer of organic and dead grass that builds up in-between the healthy green layer of your lawn and the soil. Getting rid of most of this material helps the healthy part of the lawn as it opens up the soil to sunlight, air and water. A small amount of thatch is beneficial, helping the lawn with fluctuations in water and temperature.
It is best to de-thatch right away (before the first mow of grass). We as a professional company will take care of this for you with our specialized equipment.
Power Raking
Power raking removes thatch, stems and roots, which build up under the surface of your lawn. Some thatch is beneficial, however too much blocks water, air and nutrients from reaching the soil. If thatch gets thicker than 1/2 inch deep, the roots grow into the thatch instead of the soil.
Aeration
Core aeration lessens the natural compression that occurs in the soil under your lawn. The little ‘plugs’ of soil that are extracted allow moisture and nutrients to get into the soil.
Soil & Overseeding
We can bring in soil and seed to help bring life to your lawn. Overseeding is simply the process of spreading new grass seed on your lawn, which allows new blades of grass to grow. Since a blade of grass only lives for about 6 weeks, it must produce new shoots continually, or the grass thins out. Overseeding helps this. In fact, it may be the one step that will help your lawn over anything else.
Fertilization
Fertilizing is a must! Once every 6-8 weeks during the growing season, we use a broadcast spreader, to ensure even distribution. Spreading fertilizer by hand can cause uneven growth and burn spots. If you use an organic fertilizer like we do, you will not have to worry about burning your lawn if you apply too much.
Weekly Mowing
Mowing can be time consuming and even a pain if you don’t have the time for it. Let us take care of it for you. Give yourself more time to spend with your family and on other more important things!
Mowing the lawn is a very important part of proper yard care. There are a host of benefits associated with mowing the lawn on a weekly basis:
Mowing the lawn serves a two-fold purpose. First, the cosmetic benefits can be noticed immediately. A properly cut lawn is something that is very pleasant to behold. Mowing the lawn on a regular basis helps keep the grass short, neat and even. This also gives your lawn a very well manicured and orderly appearance. Many people consider it to be a matter of pride when it comes to the way that their yard looks; so tending to it in this fashion brings satisfaction.
The other benefits that come with mowing the lawn on a regular basis may not be as immediately obvious, but they are just as important. Mowing helps keep your lawn healthy and eliminates pests from the grass at the same time. It also helps ensure that various pieces of debris are picked up and cleared every week; so that nothing accumulates on the grass.

Gardening
Gardening using native plants is such a great way to beautify your house while also helping the environment. Native plants allow you to use less resource and provides habitat that wildlife like. In addition, since you are avoiding the use of biocides and fertilizers, you are preventing pollution into local waterways.
Sodding
Sodding is a great way to get you lawn started on the right foot. We can fill and professionally install your sod for you while you can sit back and enjoy your beautiful new lawn.
Sod costs more than grass seed, but these rolls of pre-grown grass offer benefits that often outweigh the added cost. Proper ground preparation is necessary whether you choose sod or grass seed. The primary benefits of sod are apparent after the installation process. Assessing the value of sod’s benefits helps you determine if the cost is a worthy investment to establish your lawn.
Instant Lawn, Sod turns a bare patch of ground into a grass-covered lawn as soon as you finish installing it. You get the instant satisfaction of having a green yard. A seeded lawn requires several weeks before the grass grows in. The area looks patchy as the grass first starts to grow. If you don’t have the patience to wait for a dense lawn grown from seed, sod is a faster alternative.
Fall Clean Up
A Fall Clean-Up is the systematic collection and removal of any leaves, sticks, and debris littering your property as a result of the changing seasons. Your open areas of turf, landscape beds and hardscapes, are all included in our Fall Clean-Up Package. This service is primarily performed using a variety of backpack and wheeled blowers, though certain areas may require us to rake them by hand.
Reap the benefits of a clean, neat lawn and landscape appearance at your property. Not only will your property look pristine but it will be healthier. Removal of debris from your lawn will help its health by avoiding the problems associated with leaf compaction and added acidity to your soil base, which can destroy your turf and increase broad leaf weed activity. In addition spores found on leaves can infect your soil and re-infect trees and shrubs year after year.
